Free Consultations – Call for an appointment
What can you expect in our session?
If you have a particular area to focus on or an ongoing injury for treatment, it will be best to have an opportunity to assess the condition. This is required for acupuncture appointments, and optional for bodywork appointments. After reviewing your intake information with you to have a complete picture of your current state we will go through a musculoskeletal assessment. This information will be used to find how our time can best be used to help meet your goals. This will include muscle strength, flexibility and range of motion testing. We will then go through a customized bodywork session to address the issues where you want to focus. After the bodywork I will make recommendations for exercises that will augment the bodywork and correct any imbalances in strength or flexibility that we discover during our session.
We will review any changes since the last visit, and after re-assessing pulse, tongue and palpation we’ll provide that days treatment. In Chinese medicine the body is considered to be in constant flux and thee treatments are not only particular to the patient, but they are also particular to that patient’s condition at any given moment. While treatments will be similar while treating a condition, no two treatments will be exactly identical.
If you don’t have a particular focus of treatment or injury, we can go straight to bodywork treatments. These sessions will allow me to become familiar with your condition and make adjustments so that you progress towards your goals. Thirty minute sessions are for people that have difficulty tolerating a full hour. The session is focused to 1-2 body regions to allow treatment. In the one-hour sessions I am can broaden some to focus the work effectively. With these sessions I am able to accomplish what other therapists need 90 minutes or 2 hours to finish. In the 90 minute sessions I am able to broaden the treatment even more to give you a more thorough workout.
